Swine flu claims first Swedish victim: report

A person in Uppsala in eastern Sweden has died at home of an illness health officials suspect may be the swine flu virus.

The person's symptoms have not been fully analysed but other details have emerged to suggest that the person had contracted the A/H1N1 swine flu virus, deputy manager of Uppsala University Hospital Björn Ragnarsson told Sveriges Radio.

The hospital expects to have conclusive test results on Monday evening or Tuesday morning.
