Police arrested two Border Policemen on Tuesday evening on suspicion of beating an Arab East Jerusalem resident in a cemetery close to the capital's Old City.

The suspects were named as Yossi Dahan and Maor Melianker. According to police, the pair stopped the man for questioning earlier on Tuesday, close to the Old City's Lions Gate. At a nearby cemetery, one of the Border Policemen allegedly grabbed the East Jerusalemite and beat him; a few moments later the other officer joined in.

Melianker and Dahan are suspected of having struck the man with truncheons and their guns, as well as punching and kicking him
