Sports as a distraction

More & more I'm becoming aware of the sheer importance of sports as a distraction!!!!
I always felt sports is a moronic drug like entertainment, along with celebrity news & gossip; with Britney, Paris, Madonna, EK, Tour de France & the Olympics the stupid Goy are kept busy  & distracted! In particular sports are a subtile 'canalisation of Partriottic/nationalistic  sentiments', mainly focussed on the working class male who from nature has strong (but rather primitive) community/nationalistic driven sentiments that need a ventile from time to time; what better than sports!? For all their nationalistic feelings are 'canalised' into the wrong direction of the moronic behaviour of supporters, stupid discussions & fights (hooligans), gambling, stupid analysis, drinking, partying, watching TV and their energy & money wasted, while behind the curtain the government is working towards the NWO!

Absolutely. And instead of doing manly things like protecting their women, providing for the family's security, and fighting real threats, the man puts on his team's cap and jersey, sits himself down on the couch, stuffs himself with empty food, and jumps around when his team does well or throws a fit when it doesn't. Meanwhile, the woman is supposed to give him space because, as they say, boys will be boys. Indeed, males have been trained to prolong adolescence, with many never leaving it.

At the same time, accustomed to being spectators, we fall into little camps behind all other public figures and issues, to the extent that we identify with the label and the pet causes of being a "liberal" or "conservative," or whatever the case. It just keeps us divided and never uniting against those united against us. The bogus two-party system being the best and most effective example. Most people might as well just dress themselves in "tree-hugging liberal" or "beer-swilling conservative" uniforms, and in a sense a lot of people do. Hence we have the sandals, black clothes, and accessories the "earthy, crunchy" people wear, who are automatically assumed to be pro-abortion, anti-gun, "green" in the bogus Al Gore sense, and always voting Democrat. They even have a soundtrack to live to, and it's so diverse it goes from the Grateful Dead's live tapes from 1966 all the way to Jerry Garcia's death in 1995 and beyond to Dave Matthews, Phish, and Ratdog.

I will admit to a lifelong passion for sports that fortunately features far more involvement than passive spectating, yet since I came to realize the stakes of what is at hand for humanity I can no longer take sports seriously except as a participant simply doing something that requires real hard work, sweat, and dedication. But not at the cost of what is truly important.

But isn't it too bad that we don't live in a world where we could enjoy truly beautiful sports, as the cliche' goes, that "celebrate humanity," without it being a distraction? You cite the Tour de France. Such a pageant of color, strength, mind over matter, man and machine, breathtaking landscapes and rustic villages, daring strategy and practiced skill. In a just world we would be right to celebrate and enjoy it. But the whole drugs issue stealing its authenticity aside, it takes its place mostly among Europeans as another in a long line of distractions.

It all reminds me of the Midnight Oil song, "Beds Are Burning."
Take heed to yourself lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither you go, lest it become a snare in the midst of you.

Lakers final game this Thursday, other than that, screw sports! It is a successful mass mind control method.

Yup.

Great song.

Sports are fine if you engage in them for physical activity and mutual camaraderie.  But spending so much time involved in sports as entertainment is very unproductive and quite useless in our times.  In a perfect world all this candy for the mind would be ok, but even then it is pointless and unproductive as a source of using ones time.  They are useless industries in any age.  The ridiculous salaries these people get is dumbfounding.  Like the gladiators in Rome, sports are so valued only because mindless drones (for the most part) seek a non-critical diversion to focus their time and attention on (especially when violence occurs in any of these games as it is much desired to see people beating on each other, like UFC and boxing), as a distraction from important things that occur around them which they feel powerless to change, mostly at an unconscious level they are not aware of, just like rebellious people engage in violent or counter-establishment activities because they know things are wrong but cannot identify them accurately to properly focus their attention on it.  Entertainment is a key factor in keeping us dumbed down and distracted.

I used to balance real intellectual pursuits with a passion for sports pretty well. Now I've nearly completely lost my appetite for sports as entertainment. I remain a participant for the challenges.

The sheer interest and brainpower so many people expend on sports is astounding. Even though Hufschmid is a divisive little prick, he's right about how much better this world could be if people would just care about things that matter.

It matters little what the label is, and it is not limited to politics, religion or sports. Music fans can be divided into Beatles or Stones, Oasis or Blur, Hip-Hop or Rap, and so on.  Almost every aspect of life is comoditised, compartmentalised and packaged as a 'lifestyle choice', along with the attendant labels that go with that choice.

Sport in itself is not bad, but when a sport becomes overrun with idiots who pump themselves up with steroids in order to 'win', or when being a fan of a particular sport means having an unquestioning allegiance to a particular club or sportsperson,  then it is time to give those sports a miss.
"The real menace of our Republic is the invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy legs over our cities, states and nation. At the head is a small group of banking houses generally referred to as \'international bankers.\' This little coterie... run our government for their own selfish ends. It operates under cover of a self-created screen, seizes our executive officers, legislative bodies, schools, courts, newspapers and every agency created for the public protection."

Once again NFL commissioner Roger Goodell seems intent on breaking with the head-in-the-sand approach of his predecessor, Paul Tagliabue.
For years as drunkenness and violence escalated at NFL stadiums the league's policy was, uh, good luck with that.

But on Thursday Goodell announced he will be issuing a fan conduct policy that will hopefully forestall the nuclear option of banning alcohol at NFL games. After all, of the many revenue streams in pro sports, can any possibly be as lucrative as the stream of domestic beer selling for $8 a cup?

"We want everyone to be able to come to our stadiums, behave properly, enjoy this experience but don't ruin it for others," said Goodell. "We will be focusing on that, including the implementation of an NFL fan conduct policy which we will have out prior to the season."

If Goodell's new policy holds franchises accountable for the conduct of their fans
