NJ police arrest suspect, seize cache of weapons

Police in central New Jersey have seized a cache of weapons and ammunition from the motel room of a Virginia man.

Somerset County Prosecutor Wayne Forrest says Lloyd R. Woodson, a 43-year-old from Reston, Va., also had maps of a US military facility and a town in another state.

Woodson was arrested in Branchburg early on Monday morning by officers responding to a report of a suspicious person.

Woodson has no known terrorism links, the FBI says.

According to police reports, Woodson was wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying a semiautomatic Bushmaster rifle under his jacket at the time of his arrest.

Woodson is being held at the Somerset County Jail on a number of charges, including unlawful possession of weapons.

The prosecutor's office said it does not know whether Woodson has a lawyer.
