 Local Synagogue Vandalized With Words of Hate
Swastikas, slurs cover Olney synagogue

As parents arrived early Monday morning to drop their kids off for summer camp at the B'Nai Shalom Synagogue in Olney, Md., they were greeted by a derogatory name for Jews spray-painted on the building.

"I started welling up with tears and tried to conceal it from our 3-year-old," said concerned parent Laurie Blumstein.

But the anti-Semitic vandalism didn't stop there. Swastikas were spray-painted across the entire building and sidewalk and German references to the Holocaust were found on lampposts even parking spots.

"The words 'Arbeit Macht Frei,' which translate to 'work will set you free,'" said Rabbi Ari Sunshine. "Those are the words that are written above the entrance to the Auschwitz concentration camp."

"The remarks about Jews, the German writing, this was done by someone who knew German or was copying it from something," said synagogue member Elaine Senter. "I don't think it was done by kids. It just was too perfect."

Rabbi Sunshine believes the vandalism happened sometime overnight. Montgomery County police are investigating more than a dozen different slogans and symbols as a hate crime, including change found at the door, which Rabbi Sunshine believes insinuates Jews are money hungry.

As hurtful as the images and words are, the rabbi said, he decided not to have them painted over early Monday morning. He wanted his congregation and members of the community to see what happened to try to use the act of hate to bring the community together.

"If we just cover over the words and the symbols and get rid of it in the next hour or two hours, without a chance for people to come together and work at that and symbolically stand together as we remove these words, then a great teaching opportunity will have been lost," the rabbi said.

The synagogue planned to hold a special service Monday night at 7:30 p.m. where the public is invited to talk about what happened and help with the clean up process.

Also in Olney, mailboxes of two residences in the 18500 block of Rolling Acres Way were spray-painted red. Several swastikas, the symbol "14/88," and the symbol "SS" were spray-painted on the yards and trees at those residences. The "88" is sometimes a coded reference to Heil Hitler, as each word begins with the eight letter of the alphabet, and the "14" is thought to stand for the number of words in a white supremacist credo.

Next to the donation button is a youtube video and the gentlemen says it just so happens the power went out that night(about 6 min into the video).  So anytime the power goes out, some evil nazi's come out and spray paint the local temple?

The prior photo-stills above, are from a metro house at a german-speaking region (germany). Michael-james pointed out the poor quality of the work, in his article 'Zionists foment race war..'. They were posted above, not to deceive, but if you carefully read the comments, the olney 'work' reminds one greatly of their prior 'accomplishments'. The above work shows, if you push a little further, the already sloppy work done at the olney synagogue becomes more immediately recognizable as their own hand.

Maryland is *not* a german-speaking region, last time I heard. The most likely people to conceivably scrawl with black spray-paint on the synagogue would be people hired by their own sayanim.

Very good post!  Your correct about the camera's being out at just the right time.  It's funny when this happen, the media came running out, big featured story on both the press and tv media along with the donation button on their website.  If this were a perhaps a Catholic Church, they wouldn't have drawn attention to themselves but simply cleaned it up and moved on.  I still don't think they'll ever catch anyone but maybe I should call that number and see what the cops say.

State Senate Candidate Karen Montgomery Decries Hate Crimes at Olney Synagogue


 
Olney, MD, July 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Delegate Karen Montgomery, candidate for District 14 seat in the State Senate, has pledged to support a community –wide effort to fight and prevent hate crimes, such as the anti-Semitic graffiti painted this week on B'nai Shalom of Olney.

Montgomery was one of more than 500 attendees at Monday evening's prayer service to support members of the B'nai Shalom community. Vestiges of the hateful words and symbols remain on the synagogue's walls, parking lot and light poles today despite clean-up efforts by area residents. Synagogue officials have said sandblasting will be required to remove the graffiti.

"When I attended the service at B'nai Shalom following the discovery of anti-Semitic graffiti written on the walls of their synagogue, I did so out of the unshakeable conviction that community solidarity is the only true antidote to the social poison of hate speech," Montgomery said. "As County Executive Ike Leggett said at the service, we have stopped the forces of division and bigotry before, and we will stop them again. I have every confidence that District 14 and all of Montgomery County will unite in rejecting this act of prejudice, and I will personally do everything in my power as a citizen and elected official to see that it does not happen again."

A member of the Maryland House of Delegates since 2002, Montgomery is running for the District 14 seat in the State Senate in the 2010 Democratic primary election on Sept. 14. She is a longtime resident of Brookeville and has been active in many community efforts. She has been endorsed by the Montgomery County Education Association and Maryland State Education Association, the League of Women Voters, the Sierra Club Maryland Chapter, the League of Conservation Voters, Progressive Maryland, the Services Employees International Union and other major organizations.

I smell 'anti-hate crime Bill' with specific provisions for not criticizing the jews by U.S. Citizen-tards.
Some people are waking up to what U.S. Citizen means, so... we'll see if these Bills have effect.
I kinda doubt it at the rate and direction events are going.
They (the criminals/jews) only have control over the de facto bankrupt and insolvent corporation.
And then by extension some of the, what-could-be, de jure players in uniforms, many of who have been themselves, asleep corporate tools, fraudulently donating their energy to the wrong purposes.

Police: 157-year-old Cincinnati cemetery vandalized

CINCINNATI (AP) -- A cemetery manager says vandals have caused an estimated $250,000 in damage in three incidents over six weeks at a Cincinnati cemetery that includes the graves of several of the city's first Roman Catholic bishops.

Police say the most recent act of vandalism at the 157-year-old St. Joseph New Cemetery occurred between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Sunday.

General manager Rob Winter says vandals caused more than $100,000 damage Sunday, tipping over more than 30 monuments in an older Irish section and damaging about a half dozen in a newer section.

Winter says none of the bishops' graves have been damaged.

Cemetery officials suspect teenagers and have asked the police to step up patrols of the area.

The original St. Joseph cemetery was bought by Archbishop John Purcell in 1842.
