Jerry Brunetti's "Food as Medicine" came out a few years ago but im posting it in case some people havnet yet seen it.  im watching it again this morning for the 1st time since i 1st saw it a year or two ago.  its full of great health info.  lots of food ideas, etc.

QuoteThis is Jerry Brunetti's highly informative video lecture Food as Medicine (2005) where he lays out his experience with terminal cancer which he successfully overcame with eating healthy and different food than he used to eat until then. In 1999 he was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and given 6 months to live. He did not submit to chemotherapy, but rather, developed his own unique dietary approach to enhance his immune system. Jerry shares his personal experiences and provides his recipe for healthy living. You will learn about the crucial importance of minerals, which foods to choose for your best health requirements and what to avoid. After viewing this fascinating lecture you'll realize the remarkable value of food in building good foundations, and providing buffers, to keep your body healthy. 3h long. A must see for everyone. Food as Medicine features: -The power of pigments -Make your plate a rainbow. -Protection from cruciferous vegetables. -The good oils. -Fabulous fermentation. -Eggs-The ultimate food. -Butter vs. Margarine-The power of raw milk. -What major minerals do-Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Phosphorous and Sulfur. -The trace mineral catalysts-Copper, Manganese, Zinc, Boron and Iron. -The forgotten five-Iodine, Molybdenum, Cobalt, Selenium and Chromium.

the reason i through this on this morning was because im sick of eating shitty breakfasts.  im always looking for ideas on good foods to eat in the morning, mostly because im guilty of still eating bacon and eggs a few times a week.  i sometimes just go with a nutrient packed smoothy and a protein shake, but that shit gets boring.
so, im posing this question to you all.  what do some of you eat for a healthy breakfast?  instead of bacon, eggs, waffals, cereal, etc.  i need some ideas please and thank you.

Ralph Furely

no problemo. I take in a lot of the hemp powder from manitobaharvest. It helps keep you going, and has a ton of protein and if u get the fiber stuff, well it will keep your testines clean.

Ralph Furely

I actually bought some hemp protein last year but it tasted so awful that i just couldnt do it man.  i tried it with everything.  water, in a smoothie, added lots more shit to the smoothie.  it was so horrible i just couldnt do it.  ended up giving it away to my buddy.  said good luck.
im on Dr. Mercolas Pro-Optimal Whey right now.  its expensive but really good quality.  if im lazy ill just make a big smoothie with this protein and a raw egg or two.  but i like to eat big hearty breakfasts's's's.

i hook up big sandwiches from time to time, but theyre pretty much void of nutrition really... im just bored man with my limited ideas for food in the am.  supper im all good.  i make big gourmet healthy feasts.  its just the morning time when i dont feel like thinking or creating, this is where im lacking ;)

thanks for those two juice links also.  i was actually planning on making a thread asking about healthy juices.  i know most if not all u can find at the store are useless.  i only drink water, beer, and sometimes juice.  but the juice is always shitty, full of sugar and pretty much no real health to it.  these look great... just dono if i can get that in my area.

For the morning people breakfast is easily the most important meal of the day.  Cortisol should be elevated in the morning and that is also when the stomach meridian energy peaks.

For those who need a hearty breakfast in 15 mins, think the slow cooker aka the crock pot.  It should be loaded the night before and set to autotime and start to cook about 3 or 4 hours before breakfast.  A typical stockpot breakfast:

last night's roast (include bones for minerals)
celery
potatoes
herbs and spices
pumpkins
green beans
carrots
lentils

In the morning steam some squash, brocoli, red, yellow, green peppers (if you cut up the night before during eve meal preparation and keep in fridge) just steam it in the am.  Spoon stockpot into bowl, tip the steamed vegetables into it and eat with toasted bread.  There will be enough left for stew when the kids get home from school.  They should have a bowlful before they start snacking on junk.

Just like we do with material desires, flitting about from one whim to another because of all the programming and stimulation in the schools, media and society, we do the same with our cravings for food (stimulii). Once the fog of empty stimulii is cleared away it's easy to feel from deep down inside what the body needs - not what the mind craves.

I highly recommend detoxifying with fruit and vegetables, broths, and juices, and getting rid of heavy metals, and then observing how those "quick fix" urges can melt away. Once you learn to really hear what your body needs (and sometimes it can really be greasy fried chicken, although most of the time it isn't) you can train yourself to treat your body right with nourishing food instead of empty stimulii. In a way, it's really a similar process to saying no to all the mind control of the "news" and Hollywood movies - once you can recognize the Matrix it's hard to dive back in.

Fruit is my favorite breakfast. If you don't have time in the morning, cut some up the night before and put it in the fridge.

Right now it's avacado season here. Current favorite is half an avacado with some sugar-free coconut powder and a dash of pure honey. The good fats of the avacado eliminate cravings like nobody's biznuss.

Diseases really hate an alkaline environment. Start the day off with the juice of one whole lemon (or a half) mixed into water. You'll hydrate the system, stimulate the bowels, and establish a buffer against all the acidic junk we put in our poor bodies (because lemon, despite the taste, is alkaline).
Take heed to yourself lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither you go, lest it become a snare in the midst of you.

Nice, maybe i'll pick up a couple lemons.

I recommend a banana everyday with a cereal, pref. oatmeal.

And it's worth considering getting some Wheatgrass powder! Take it once or twice per month.

BTW when eating apples, peaches, pears, plums, apricots and cherries crack open and/or skin the seed and eat what is inside! Vitamin B-17.

Quotemostly because im guilty of still eating bacon and eggs a few times a week.

Eggs, and bacon, aren't bad. If they come from chickens raised right and pigs the same. Any eggs or bacon you can buy in an american grocery store are toxic.  Organic is OK if you can be assured through direct connects with people the background of the producer.  Many of these Rothschild entities control major organics producers in the U.S., and combining with the Federal organics statute, I suggest not trusting any food labeled organic unless you can trace the source and know someone who has audited the farm (Co-operatives have field-trips for their directors and senior staff to inventory the practices at their providers).

Weston Price has a campaign for natural products http://www.westonaprice.org/

Raw eggs are also fine from the above sources, as salmonella is a problem at factories, and exists on the outside of the egg.

It may seem difficult to a person reading this post, of the changes necessary to get the right food into their diet, but this is the punishment meted out for decades of indifference by the purchasers.  Media advertising, fluoride in the water and manufactured foods, vaccines, have all made sure people are indifferent in the U.S. and other places treated the same.  If you have gotten over the items I listed, this is only the beginning to better health.

I can recommend the Omega 800x series juicer if someone is looking to squeeze the last bit of juice from their fresh foods. The manufacturer sells it direct.

So I bought a couple of lemons and have had lemon juice first thing in the morning a couple of times now, and I like it. I mixed half of a lemon's juice with about a half of cup of water. ...can't help but feel we're doing something good for our bodies when we use food as medicine like this.
I looked up the health benefits of lemons, and if anybody is going to try this, then also swish the lemon juice and water mix around your mouth a bit. It is also good for your gums. And don't immediately wash it down with another drink, let it go through your system undiluted for a few minutes.

I will continue to do this every now and then.
Thanks.

Ralph Furely

awesome guys thanks for the tips!!  definitely gonna grab me some lemons today.  i drink tons of water daily so i have no problem putting some fresh lemon juice in there.
been eating lots of fresh fruit in the morning.  still eating eggs, sometimes with bacon, but usually without.  hard boiled with some toast.  lots of oatmeal too.

thanks for the valuable info man, its much appreciated.

No wonder these idiots want Codex to be implemented on December 31st 2009  :x

Ralph Furely

yea that shit scares me.  everything about it.

some ppl are so misinformed that theyre tricked into thinking this is a good thing.  ppl will actually support this.  i was on vacation visiting a bunch of friends in
Calgary last summer and was reading a Dr. Mercola article outside in the backyard one day.  most of the comments were sensible ppl but the odd one was actually
supportive of all that bullshit.  scary.

Actually, lemons and citrus related fruits are acidic due to citric acid. Vitamin C is prevalent in citrus so that's where you're deriving your benefits from. I have heard that creating an alkaline environment helps prevent cancer and other problems. What I'd recommend for that is your leafy greens: Collard greens, spinach, Swiss Chard, turnip tops, beet tops<-awesome!, and other leafy greens. They have vitamins A,C,and E. They also help increase alkalinity in the body.

Here's my favorite way of prepping the greens: Blanche the harder parts (stems) for 3-4 minutes in boiling water, then add the leafy mass for 3-4 minutes. Drain. Set aside. Add oil to the empty pot. Lightly simmer fresh ginger root then add the blanched greens. Mix well. Add ~1-2 tblspoons of seaseme oil. Add some brown sugar 1/2 - 1 tblspoon. And you're done. I usually sprinkle in cayenne pepper also.

I like this site for reference regarding nutrition: http://www.whfoods.com/
example-> http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tnam ... e&dbid=144 for turnip tops

Greens are especially easy to grow and all of you should try to start a garden even if it's super small. Try to set up irrigation sprinkler's to make the overall care easier. The easier the job the more likely one will carry through with the job. Hauling water sucks. I'm about to start growing Kale, collards, more turnips, beets, and a few other cold weather things. I also recommend letting the best looking plants grow to flowering so you can collect fresh viable seeds for later seasons.

As for detox forumula's, I'm about to make this one: http://pbn.4mg.com/theintelligencerepor ... oxmix.html

I've already tried the myrrh powder in small doses soaked in vodka (extracts essential oils). I could feel it clearing up my bronchial passages within 15 minutes which is about on target for ingested substances on an empty stomach.

Don't  avoid the leafy greens! They are your friends!

nice, thanks! i loves my greens!!
thanks for the links man, the more info the better!!

Quote from: "jai_mann"Actually, lemons and citrus related fruits are acidic due to citric acid.

Not true. Since citric acid is a weak acid the end result of metabolism is alkaline due to the formation of calcium carbonate.

Your greens recipe sounds tasty. However, in terms of the percentage of calories it is probably >90% fat due to the oils. Gotta watch the fat, which interferes with the metabolism of carbohydrates.

I feel like I should mention that in a previous post I recommended swishing the lemon juice around your gums... While it is good for your gums, the juice can weaken your teeth.

I came across some home remedies pages which are claiming the same thing regarding citric acid being converted to an alkaline substance so it looks like I was wrong. I've got a cold that's been with me for 5 days so far. I think I'm on the down swing and have been since yesterday. My head was killing me before.

Some things I've been doing to fight this and avoid the doctor ($$$ and I want natural resistance built up). I've been drinking and gargling with warm honey water which I've mixed Myrrh Gum powder (antiseptic) in with. I just tried using q-tips w/ hydrogen peroxide as I just read colds/viruses may enter through the ear canal. I'm very inclined to believe that's my case for the following reasons: I felt I had a sore spot in my left ear canal which is now gone but starting yesterday I had a sore spot in my right ear canal, very very odd to say the least. In addition I could see puss coming out of one of the ducts  near the back of my throat which I believe connects to the ear canal(gotta ask the fiance who's in med. school about that). I've also been popping capsicum pills which definitely get me cleared up. I brewed some ephedra tea yesterday and the day before which didn't seem to help as much as I expected (the herbs are a few years old so potency has prolly dropped-this stuff is normally awesome).

Hopefully I'll kick this thing soon. I'll have to get tons of cayenne peppers growing this summer to increase my supply.
