Thanks for this post Yankee. This guy is pretty long-winded he sounds a bit over the top in his theatrics and plus, he is talking to an empty room which is weird.

I am about 3 minutes in and he hasn't even gotten started with his problem. It is too late to get invested in this tonight so I will check this out tomorrow.

I just just looked him up and it seems that he got himself involved in some kind of corruption charges.

I wonder how many of these corruption charges are even real. It seems like every Congressman who is anti-Israel always gets involved in some kind of scandal or corruption charges.

Gus Savage, controversial former congressman, dies at 90

QuoteAugustus "Gus" Savage, a civil rights activist who spent six tumultuous terms in Congress from the South Side before a scandal ended his political career, died Saturday, family members said. His death came a day after his 90th birthday.

Savage represented Illinois' 2nd Congressional District, one of the most politically tortured boundaries in the nation, amid a state known for corruption.

Savage lost his congressional seat in 1992 when he was defeated in the Democratic primary amid accusations he made improper sexual advances to a female Peace Corps volunteer during a trip to Africa. His successor, Mel Reynolds, was convicted of bank fraud and criminal sexual abuse. Reynolds' successor was Jesse Jackson Jr., who in June completed serving a prison sentence for corruption.

Savage used his printing press to express his belief that then-Mayor Richard J. Daley was repressing blacks, and the publisher fought what he viewed as a white power structure that controlled the city.

During his tenure, Savage became more controversial. He frequently attacked Republican President Ronald Reagan and U.S. support for Israel. He decried "the powerful Zionist lobby" as he supported increased rights for Palestine. He accused his political opponents of being financed by "racist Jews."

I think there are several reasons for the empty room.  First of all, no doubt AIPAC would know who was sitting there listening to him, thus, the cowards would run as soon as he started to speak out against Israhell.

Second, I think speaking to an empty room, or nearly empty room, is required to get their speech on the record.  I'm sure I've seen others - including Ron Paul - speaking to an empty, or apparently empty, room.  Of course, the bastards didn't care what he said, either.

And, according to this obituary, they seem to have persecuted him for "improper sexual advances" in Africa, which means they couldn't dig up anything he did in Chicago or Washington, which, really, makes him sound pretty damned honest, based on what happened to his successors.

Honest he must have been, since he spoke out against Israhell.  And, honesty will get you nowhere, so they say, and so it seems to have been with Gus Savage.
