FORMER Donald Trump aide Jason Miller is the founder of the social media network GETTR.

Miller created GETTR after the 45th president was banned from all major social media platforms for allegedly inciting an insurrection following the events at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Who is former Trump aide Jason Miller?
Miller is an American communications strategist, political advisor and CEO of GETTR - a conservative social network.

He is best known as the chief spokesman for Trump's 2016 presidential campaign.

Miller was a senior adviser to the Trump 2020 re-election campagin.

Miller left his position as Trump's spokesman in June 2021 to become the CEO of GETTR.

GETTR has two million followers, of which 13.5 percent are from Brazil.

What is GETTR?
GETTR is a social media platform targeted at American comservatives.

The platform was launched on July 4, 2021, as its user interface and features have been described as similar to Twitter.

Journalists noted the extreme content on the platform includes racism and anti-Semitism.

The platform was briefly hacked on its launch day.

Some high-profile GETTR accounts, including Miller, US representative Majorie Taylor Greene, former secretary of state Mike Pompeo, and Steve Bannon, were compromised.

Was Jason Miller questioned at a Brazilian airport?
On September 7, Miller was reportedly questioned for hours at Brazil airport after attending a conservative event.

According to a statement, the former Trump aide was questioned at Brasilia International Airport after appearing at the Conservative Political Action Conference.

"This afternoon my traveling party was questioned for three hours at the airport in Brasilia, after having attended this weekend's CPAC Brasil Conference," it read.

"We were not accused of any wrongdoing, and told only that they 'wanted to talk.' We informed them that we had nothing to say and were eventually released to fly back to the United States."

Miller concluded the statement by saying, "Our goal of sharing free speech around the world continues!"

"Next stop: #CPACBrasil - lets go!" he wrote, accompanied by a photograph of a MAGA hat.

He also met with President Jair Bolsonaro, Deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro and former Chancellor Ernesto Araújo.

Why was Jason Miller under a subpoena?
On November 8, 2021, the House committee issued a subpoena for Miller and other high-profile allies of Trump as part of their investigation into the deadly Capitol riot that took place earlier this year.

The attack was a result of hundreds of Trump's supporters who stormed the Capitol and forced a joint session of Congress to flee their chambers.

It was reported that Miller was an attendee at a meeting the night prior to discuss overturning the election.

The meeting is said to have taken place at D.C.'s Willard hotel.

The "selection committee needs to know every detail about their efforts to overturn the election, including who they were talking to in the White House and in Congress, what connections they had with rallies that escalated into a riot, and who paid for it all," Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said in a statement.
