Supposed Jewish superiority

Henry Louis Mencken, a great thinker who did not shy from fully utilizing his right to free speech, as he had views that were not favourable to many (some even I don't agree with).  Below is another truthful statement, this time about supposed Gentile envy of Jewish superiorty:

"The Jewish theory that the Goyim envy the superior ability of Jews is not borne out by the facts. Most Goyim, in fact, deny that the Jew is superior, and point in evidence to his failure to take the first prizes: he has to be content with the seconds. No Jewish composer has ever come within miles of Bach, Beethoven and Brahms; no Jew has ever challenged the top-flight painters of the world, and no Jewish scientist has ever equalled Newton, Darwin, Pasteur or Mendel. In the latter bracket such apparent exceptions as Ehrlich, Freud and Einstein are only apparent. Ehrlich, in fact, contributed less to biochemical fact than to biochemical theory, and most of his theory was dubious. Freud was nine-tenths quack, and there is sound reason for believing that even Einstein will not hold up: in the long run his curved space may be classed with the psychosomatic bumps of Gall and Spurzheim. But whether this inferiority of the Jew is real or only a delusion, it must be manifest that it is generally accepted. The Goy does not, in fact, believe that the Jew is better than the non-Jew; the most he will admit is that the Jew is smarter at achieving worldly success. But this he ascribes to sharp practices, not to superior ability."
(Minority Report: H. L. Mencken's Notebooks)

As -- I believe -- LAV has said, they only excell and succeed because of the favourable circumstances and opportunities afforded to them (mainly due to the wealth/money they posess).  The Jew is better at achieving wordly success because those that strive to do so at all costs (like many non-Jews as well) have an egotistical power-hungry desire to rule.  I believe we call these types of people megalomaniacs.

To get an overview of Mencken's general philosophy:

Mencken's Creed
QuoteI believe that religion, generally speaking, has been a curse to mankind - that its modest and greatly overestimated services on the ethical side have been more than overcome by the damage it has done to clear and honest thinking.
I believe that no discovery of fact, however trivial, can be wholly useless to the race, and that no trumpeting of falsehood, however virtuous in intent, can be anything but vicious.
I believe that all government is evil, in that all government must necessarily make war upon liberty...
I believe that the evidence for immortality is no better than the evidence of witches, and deserves no more respect.
I believe in the complete freedom of thought and speech...
I believe in the capacity of man to conquer his world, and to find out what it is made of, and how it is run.
I believe in the reality of progress.
I - But the whole thing, after all, may be put very simply. I believe that it is better to tell the truth than to lie. I believe that it is better to be free than to be a slave. And I believe that it is better to know than be ignorant.

BINGO!

Extreme self-interest combined with no moral restrictions and a belief that the means justifies the end defeats the kind-inclined nearly every time.

I find it interesting that Mencken is not in favor with the intelligentsia the way the likes of Bertrand Russell, H.G. Wells, or George Bernard Shaw are held in such high esteem. Maybe that has something to do with his refusal to look down on humans as cattle. Did you know he wrote a treatise critical of eugenics in 1927? Then there is G.K. Chesterton, who wrote Eugenics and Other Evils in 1922. Neither are as celebrated as the writers and "thinkers" that stood in opposition to humanity in deed while posing as its problem solvers and dreamers.

Take heed to yourself lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land whither you go, lest it become a snare in the midst of you.
